Ugly Bug Ball...at last!

Okay, this ridiculous project is finally done: here's the fake cover I whipped up for my proposed "Ugly Bug Ball" picture book. The first six (if you can believe that!) fake pages are viewable in the "portfolio" section over at my website. And if anyone at Disney Publishing happens to be reading this blog: get in touch! I'd love to make this happen for real!

Ugly Bug Ball, part 2

Continuing from the last post, I decided it would really give my portfolio some kick if I illustrated several pages of that fake "Ugly Bug Ball" book to show off my consistency and my composition skills, as well as my general understanding of picture-book layouts.

I've added them all to my website, but the horizontal orientation of the 2-page spreads doesn't really lend itself to this blog layout. Instead, I'm just gonna post the second page here, which, like the one before it, is a single-page stand-alone image.

What's next? A cover? Well...maybe.
